Tips for Single Parent Chat
Instant Messengers such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo, Skype, and so on have provided single parents who want to meet someone to date, another method of connecting with others. These tend to be messages that occur between two people. However, chats that occur in chat rooms tend to involve several people.
As this is a relatively newer way of possibly meeting someone to date, there are some tips that can make the experience more enjoyable and safer.
Here are some Tips for Single Parent Chat:
- make sure that you do not share your screen name (on instant messengers) with anyone unless you know who they are
- Don’t provide identifying information such as your real name, phone number, city, email address, etc. in your profile
- Don’t provide identifying information about your children such as their names, ages, schools, activities.
- Share safe information with others. Remember that you do not know who you are really talking to.
- Watch for inappropriate comments or things that make you feel uncomfortable. That should be a red flag to you.
