Whatever the reason for being a single parent, if you are ready to begin to meet single parents like yourself, you may be wondering where exactly to do this.

Your intention may be to meet someone of the opposite gender that you can date or simply just to meet other single parents (male or female) that you can strike up a friendship with.  Whatever the case, here are some ideas of how to meet single parents:

• Join a single parent support group – in your area or create one if there isn’t one already.
• Step out of your comfort zone - Speak to people when you are out picking up your kids at school or meet new people at work.  Even if those people are not single, they may lead you to someone who is.
• Pay attention to others talking - You may not realize that other people around you are single parents as well.
• Go Online – There are many sites dedicated to meeting other single parents.  It is a good way to meet people without having to leave your home initially.  You can sign up for free, and see if it’s right for you.
• Have friends introduce you to some of their friends who are single - Unfortunately, 50% of marriages end up in divorce and a lot of people have had children but were never married.  I’m sure you can think of some single friends that you could introduce others to.  Surely, some people you know have single parent friends that they could introduce you to.
