Dating Single Mothers & How it Differs from Dating Single Women
If you are a man (with or without children), you will find out that dating single mothers is different from dating single women without children. However, if you are a patient and flexible man, you will find that it need not be a deterrent.
If you are prepared for what the differences are, you will be way ahead of the other men who did not read this post. Here are some of the differences that you should be aware about:
- A dedicated mother will put her children’s needs ahead of her own or that of the person she is dating. This means that she may cancel dates with you unexpectedly if something comes up with one of the children. Do not be jealous of the children or hold this against her. You should see this as an attractive trait, as it tells you a lot about the person you are dating.
- Dating single mothers are not as likely to be as well off financially if you compare them to dating single fathers, for example. This is because oftentimes, many of these moms may have put off their own careers to have their children and now they may be struggling to make ends meet. Do not assume this, however, because there are many single mothers out there who are doing just fine financially. However, they are having to work and take care of their children, which can lead to one tired mom at the end of the day.
- If the mom chooses not to introduce you to her children right away (which is very acceptable), expect that you can’t just pop in on her at her home at any time of day. You will have to figure out a dating schedule that works around that of her children. A lot of the dating may have to take place away from her home or on weekends when she does not have the children (assuming there is a father who shares custody).
